Trekking in Dayara Bugyal

Dayara Bugyal is perhaps one of the best-looking alpine meadows in India. The meadow make bigger out far and wide. The panoramic view of the Himalayas from here is breathtaking. Situated at an elevation of about 3048 m, this vast field is second to none in natural attractiveness. The trek goes from side to side open land and dense forest at different places. In winters the meadows are converged with snow & are extremely beautiful. They have come back with stories of the profusion of grass and magnificence of the mighty Himalayan mountain peaks cradling the meadows. They describe the place with such strength that soon word about Dayara Bugyal reached explorers. When the explorers got back from their treks to Dayara Bugyal, they came back deeply affected. The meadows were exactly as the shepherds had described them – but only more gorgeous. The mountain they talked about were the Bhagirathi peaks, Bandarpoonch, Black peak and scores of other peaks they could not name. They exposed clear water bodies strewn across the green meadows – in whose mirror image the peaks looked even better-looking. Flowers sprung up around stream and brooks that ran crossways the meadow. The walk starts from the small village of Barsu snuggle on the Haridwar - Gangothri road which is 33 kms from Uttarkashi. One can settle in any one of the rest-houses or GMVN houses in Barsu that forget the dramatic gorge on one side and the hoary mountains on the other.
The route of the Dayara Bugyal Trek trails from side to side gorgeous Oak forests, clear water body and wide grasslands while offering views of specks of huts, grazing sheep all while overlook the valley and apartment structure mountains. Wild flowers also bloom about streams and brooks that run across the pasture.

Day 1: Haridwar to Barsu (7545 ft) 220kms, 6-7 hrs drive

Day 2: Barsu to Dayara via Barnala (8530 ft) 8-9 Kms, 6-7 hrs trek

Day 3: Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top (12000 ft) 3 Kms 2-3 hrs, back to Dayara Bugyal

Day 4: Dayara Bugyal to Pichkiya (7873 ft) 8 Km, 6-7 hrs treks

Day 5: Pichikya (7873 ft) to Barsu (7545 ft) 4 Km, 3-4 hrs treks

Day 6: Barsu (7545 ft) to Haridwar entire day drive
